What does that mean? It means, that instead of having fun and riding our motorcycles, the chapters are gossiping and voicing negativity without a solution. The negativity can be about the Home Office, other members, or new programs. When this happens, the chapter may become part of the problem instead of part of the solution. It is a known fact that people want to point fingers at others instead of asking what can we do to help.
As Volunteer Officers of GWRRA, we need to set the example and ask, “what can we do to help?” We need to stop the gossiping when it starts and bring back the fun in our gatherings. The negativity starts when the members have nothing else to focus on. We need to remember, the members want to have fun and meet great new people to ride with. A gathering should never turn to who likes who nor should it be a place that policy is discussed. Next time you see the negativity starting, let’s change direction and plan a new ride. By doing that you will keep current members and new ones will want to join you.
Enjoy the Ride!
