The Couple of the Year Program is one of the most popular programs within GWRRA. Many couples participate in the program and describe their experience as one of the most rewarding times of their GWRRA experience. The program also provides the opportunity for couples to become more involved in GWRRA and quite often leads them to accept a position of leadership or to become an Officer.
The Couple of the Year Manual was written and approved in November 2007. Since that time, many requests and recommendations have been received for additional changes to be made to improve the overall program. As a result of suggestions and recommendations made by Members, the Manual was reviewed after Wing Ding 30 by Melissa Eason, GWRRA Executive Director; Bruce and Gayle Babcock, International Couple of the Year Coordinators; Tom and Kathy Peck, Former International Couple of the Year Coordinators; and Ed and Linda Johnson, Membership Enhancement Division Directors. It was felt that several changes could be made to the program to make it more popular and to increase participation at the Chapter level.
The latest revision is dated September 2008 and can be viewed or downloaded from the Membership Enhancement Division website at http://med.gwrra.org/. A letter from Membership Enhancement Division Directors, Ed and Linda Johnson, can be found at the front of the revised manual outlining the changes and revisions that have been made.
Please keep in mind that many of the changes were made as a result of recommendations and suggestions from you the individual Member. You are important to GWRRA and your suggestions can make a difference. |
