A Soldiers Thank You
Tennessee G2 Chapter Directors, Jerry and Joyce McCoy, decided to stop bringing door prizes to give away at their gathering and, instead, chose to adopt a soldier in Iraq. The soldier they adopted is the son of Chapter Member, Phil Ford. Phil wrote his son, Bobby, asking him what items the soldiers would most like to have sent to Iraq. Bobby talked to the others and compiled a list. After the soldiers received the package, Bobby wrote his father the following letter. This letter is reprinted with the permission of Phil Ford, GWRRA #286548.
Pop,
The boxes came in today, and let me tell you it was a riot in front of our rooms when we started opening the boxes. I had all the guys here except two that are out on mission. There was so much stuff in these boxes that I had to ask another platoon in the company if they wanted something out of them. There was not a box that we got that had something left over. It was like Christmas in September. From the moment we opened the first box, everyone just started grabbing. Some of the most popular items that the guys wanted from one another were the Ice Pops and the Honey Bun (Little Debbie) items. Even I had to fight it out with my guys to get stuff. I opened all the boxes, and as soon as these guys could see what was in them the hands and arms started going into them. It was by far the greatest day we have had here in Iraq since we came in. Nothing compares to getting care packages from people who believe what we are doing is right. I tell you, what if this is an ongoing thing while we are here? I think it will give these guys something to look forward to every month or so. I am sure that as I write this to you these guys are in their rooms making up a list of things that they want. Please tell everyone at the next meeting my utmost thanks and appreciation for what they have done for all of us here in Iraq. Or better yet, print this out and read it to them or post it in the Newsletter.
I am going to send you a thank you card from all of us, minus the other two who are not here. So, if you could take it to the meeting and let everyone know that I sent you one that would be outstanding.
Thanks Dad,
Talk to you later…
I love you
Thanks for Being There
What a great organization!! I am an active Member of Chapter E, Region A, attending monthly meetings and the friendship dinners every week. It’s a great group of people. Any one of them would come to my rescue if I needed them. It’s a comfort knowing the Gold Book is with me when I travel since it’s usually myself and my co-rider – both females. We took a cross-country trip the last of May, were gone five weeks, and didn’t worry about a thing. Although we didn’t need any assistance, it was only a phone call away.
Thank you, GWRRA, for being there no matter where I go.

A Good Experience
Wing Ding was fantastic! All the folks with local Chapter AR-R are friendly and helpful. I also enjoy the Message Boards. Overall, a good experience.

Enjoying the Gators
We are enjoying our Chapter, the Touring Gators, FL-1D2. I enjoy Wing World, and I am glad to have the Roadside Assistance. Hopefully, I will never need to use the Roadside Assistance, but I have it. We went to the Florida Rally this past year, and we liked it a lot except for the closing. It was just too long. We did not go to Wing Ding as my wife and I were in Alaska, but Members from our Chapter said it was great. My wife and I love our Gold Wing, and yes, the Rider Education and training are a plus!

Happy to be Members!
We are very excited to be new Members of Chapter S in Altoona, PA. We have belonged to several other bike clubs during the past years, but we have found none that compare to GWRRA. The Members of Chapter S are so very kind and friendly, and they would help you in any way possible. It is almost as if we have known them for years!
We do look forward every month to reading Wing World magazine, it is one of the most interesting I have ever read. Since we have joined Chapter S, I have volunteered to be the Chapter Educator, and my wife is the Chapter Goodies person.
We are very happy that we joined GWRRA and will encourage our friends to join also.
Norm & Cecilia Tubo, Chapter PA-S
Very Happy
We received all our information and are very happy with everything. We have joined up with Chapter O Minnows and have really enjoyed it.

Sixty-two Year Old Rookie
I am still in a pretty steep learning curve – I just started riding in May of 2008. I took the MSF basic course, and just two weeks ago took my first extended ride of 200 miles. I joined Chapter WY-B in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and have been accepted as a 62-year-old rookie. I’m impressed with the emphasis on safety and the extraordinary number of activities and functions that the Chapter has. Wing World is a first-class publication, and I read each issue cover- to- cover.
Steve Gerad, Chapter WY-B
Thank You!!
I really enjoy GWRRA; it cover’s everything. I have been able to get all my bells and whistles and stay caught up on events and rides with great people!
