Aage Schoug has decided to step down as Region V Director. Thank you Aage for all your hard work!
I am pleased to announce Irene Aaserod as the new Region V Director. We are very fortunate to have Irene as one of our Region Directors. Please be sure to stop by and introduce yourselves when you see her at Wing Ding this year. Congratulations Irene! To learn more about Irene, please read her bio below.

Hi. My name is Irene Aaserød. I am 48 years old and happily married to Terje, who is 48 years old too. I have 2 boys, 29 and 26 years old. We live in Norway in the Southeast area very close to the Swedish border in a small place called Skjeberg.
We both are very proud to be Members of the GWRRA Family, and we joined the family in 1999. We very soon became the Chapter Directors for NO-B. Within our work as Chapter Directors, we established Chapter NO-B, NO-C and also NO-D. I became the District Director for Norway last year during the European Wing Ding in Denmark 2007.
Our home is always open to you. You can stay over if you like; and if we aren’t home, you will find food in the refrigerator. Just make yourself comfortable until I come home.
I have been riding many different types of bikes. I received my license in 1988, and my first bike was a Honda 500CX. Since that time, I have had a Honda 500F2, a Suzuki 750, an Intruder 800 and 1400, a Yamaha XJ900, a Honda Gold Wing 1200 (imported from USA), a Honda Gold Wing 1500, and now a Honda Gold Wing 1800, 2006 model. I have only had one accident on a bike during these years and that was totally my own fault and I learned very quickly what safety is.
When we have time off from work, my husband and I like to travel on bikes to Europe and visit other Gold Wing Rallies and see other countries. We have been in Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, Italy, and Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, Luxembourg, Poland, Austria, Czech Republic and of course Denmark and Sweden.
My husband and I have our own transportation company. We have two trucks, and I drive one of them. Previously I was doing the accounting work, but I prefer to drive instead. I am also the executive director of our company. Besides my work as a truck driver, I have my own “paint your own pottery” studio at home, and I am a Certified Duncan Teacher by Duncan Company in the USA. I have students twice a week in the evening.
I have a versatile background since my previous vocation has been in insurance, health care and a shop. I had my own shop for awhile where I was a dealer for Big Bike Parts, Add On, Watsonian-squire in the UK and Niehaus Cycle. During all my time as a bike rider, dealer and teacher, I have met many different people, and I have learned a lot from this; respect for other human beings, we all don’t have the same opinion, we are different, but we all can have fun together.
I am looking forward to getting to know even more people, and I am looking forward to talking with you all and cooperating with everyone.
I wish you all a great season for bike riding, garden work, holiday or whatever you will be doing. Take care – have fun and think positive and safety.
Best Regards
Irene Aaserød
