Director, Leadership Training Division
 We are David & Kathy Orr, and we are honored to serve all Members as your new Leadership Training Division Directors. We are excited to work with the National Team and all Members of GWRRA. We reside in Monroe, NC, just east of Charlotte, NC. We have 5 children between us and one beautiful granddaughter who is an absolute joy! In addition to our GWRRA activities, we both enjoy Carolina Panthers football and NASCAR racing.
David has been a Member of GWRRA since 1998 and Kathy since 2003. David is a Certified Master Instructor involved in Leadership Training since 2000, and Kathy is a Certified Senior Instructor involved in Leadership Training since 2003. We have taught every facet of the LTD program and have authored some of the seminars in the curriculum. We have taught seminars at local, District and Region events as well as Wing Dings in Madison, Fort Wayne, and Billings.
David is also a Level IV Master Tour Rider and Certified Rider Education Seminar Presenter and rides an Atlantic Blue GL 1500. Kathy is a Level 3 Certified Tour Rider (shortly to move to Level IV) and rides her own dark red metallic 2008 GL1800. We have toured most of the United States from the Mississippi River eastward, and will be joining about 13 other bikes for a Tour of New England this summer.
We have served in many capacities within GWRRA including Chapter Directors for the Monroe, NC Chapter that we helped charter. David has also served in the capacity of Rider Educator and Kathy as Chapter Newsletter Editor. We are both Certified Bike Show judges. We served together as Leadership Trainers for North Carolina and Region N Leadership Trainers.
David is a Regional Manager of the southeastern US for a major industrial valve manufacturer. He has responsibility for sales and training of sales personnel. He has received sales and management training from previous employers which includes managing and motivating personnel and has extensive sales training from numerous sources.
Kathy worked for 9 years as a Lead Trainer for a major restaurant chain before starting her career as an Account Executive for an international computer training company. Her position involves working with about 200 corporate clients to develop and deliver training solutions for their employees on front and back end computer skills and business skills. She has received training from many top professional sales training organizations and is knowledgeable on meeting organizational training requirements and how to implement and execute training plans.
GWRRA is our main social outlet with lifetime friends with whom we share experiences within and outside GWRRA. New Leadership Training Instructor Requirement
In accordance with the mission of Leadership Training, and to insure the best possible opportunities for the membership, the following LTD position requirements are in effect immediately.
Region Trainers are to be Certified Senior Instructors or Certified Master Instructors upon appointment to the position of Region Trainer. The exception for this rule is for those Region Trainers who are currently approved and serving as Region Trainers. However, in the interest of uniformity within the organization, we expect any Region Trainer not currently a Senior or Master Instructor to have that certification by January 1, 2009. Extraordinary circumstances will always be considered on a case by case basis between the Region Director and the Director of Leadership Training.

The winds of change are blowing again, and it is very exciting. I am excited to announce our new Leadership Training Directors David and Kathy Orr. Prize Winners
We have two new winners! Gary Rudio of Andover, New Jersey, is our preregistration prize winner for April. Gary won a 25% discount certificate to the Goodie Booth at Wing Ding. Congratulations Gary! Our final preregistration prize winner is Alvin S. Ervin of Versailles, KY. Alvin won a five night stay during Wing Ding at the Holiday Inn I-85 in Greenville, SC. Congratulations Alvin!
