In order to comply with the State of Tennessee Gambling Laws, which prevent the awarding of cash or prizes for "Games of Chance," GWRRA is required to make changes in how its prize winners are selected for the following prizes and drawings:
• All Daily 50/50 and Grand drawings
(This requirement is for all purchased tickets. Because you do not purchase a ticket for the door prizes, the Tennessee Gambling Law does not affect them.)
This year, you MUST be present to win any of these prizes and GWRRA must have a skill-based process in order to declare a winner of these prizes. So here is how we will accomplish our goals for our Members this year and satisfy Tennessee Gambling Laws.
For each giveaway, 3 tickets will be drawn per prize or drawing. The ticket holders will then be asked to come forward to compete in a magnetic dart game. Each ticket holder will receive 3 magnetic darts. The ticket holders will stand 7 feet from the dartboard. The ticket holder will throw the magnetic darts at the board, one at a time. The ticket holder with the largest cumulative total number will be designated the winner of the prize or drawing.
-
Delegate whose ticket is drawn 1st will throw the darts 1st. Delegate whose ticket is drawn 2nd will throw the darts 2nd, etc.
-
Delegate will be given the option to have one “practice throw” before their official throw. The “practice throw” will not count as an official throw and no points will be awarded.
-
No matter where the dart lands in the numbered row, that is the number that will be added.
-
Darts that land in the red center of the bulls-eye will receive 100 points.
-
Darts that land in the black center of the bulls-eye will receive 50 points.
-
Darts that land on the line between two numbers will receive the highest number.
-
Darts that land outside the numbered dartboard or darts that do not stick to the dartboard will be awarded 0 points.
-
If dart does not stick to the board, delegate will receive one re-throw—1st official throw only. If dart does not stick to the board on future throws, there will be no re-throws and the throw will be forfeited.
-
Two judges will be present to determine the number that the magnetic dart lands on. The judges rulings are final.
-
Ticket holders that are handicapped and unable to throw the darts will be allowed to have a delegate throw for him/her.
-
If there is a tie between ticket holders, the tied ticket holders will throw one dart at the dartboard. The ticket holder with the highest number will be determined the winner. All ticket holders must be 18 years or older in order to purchase or participate.
We know this is not how tickets and prizes are usually drawn and given away at Wing Ding and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The requirement is due to the new Tennessee Gambling Law and is not an imposed requirement by GWRRA. But GWRRA is determined to make our drawings FUN and exciting, so make sure you are PRESENT TO WIN at all the drawings!
*For the Daily and Grand 50/50 drawings, 4 tickets will be drawn. The delegate with the highest score will receive 20%, second highest score will receive 15%, third highest score will receive 10%, and the fourth highest score will receive 5% of the 50/50.
